Title:  General Accountant, Sr.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Revenue Recognition Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards, managing complex contract structures, and supporting accurate financial reporting in a highly regulated environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606, including identifying performance obligations and transaction prices.

• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including revenue and cost of sales reporting.

• Reconcile unbilled accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and other related accounts.

• Work with operations and program managers on EAC (Estimate at Complete), helping to understand monthly variance and cost analysis.

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and reports.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and compliance in revenue recognition practices.

• Maintain the integrity of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience accounting, preferably in revenue recognition accounting in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP. Proficiency SAP (preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience with government contracting and compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
