SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates production activities in processing materials or manufacturing products in the department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Plans production operations, establishes priorities for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Compiles, stores and retrieves production data as required for the job responsibilities.
Coordinates projects from engineering R&D to standard production personnel.
Assist operations in budget management in all MultiFab manufacturing departments.
Prepares preliminary four (4) month shipping forecast.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards including ISO/QS9000 standards.
Prepares and coordinates production personnel annual reviews with assistance from department leads.
Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to appropriate personnel for action.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven track record of managing production, preferably working in a Photochemical Milling/Chemical Etching manufacturing environment preferred but not required to be considered for this position. Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written, to support effective correspondence with internal as well as external customers/suppliers. Previous Supervisory experience is preferred. Proficient in the use of MS Office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks to completion. Ability to read and interpret Blueprint drawings and specifications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A bachlors degree in Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering with a minimum 1-3 years experience in Photochemical Milling/Chemical Etching field including a working knowledge of various manufacturing operations preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to lead small groups in problem solving exercises.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee frequently is required to stand, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed in a typical office environment with no major sources of discomfort. Essentially a normal controlled working environment with noise levels within acceptable safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions. On occasion may be required to enter production/receiving areas when the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or fumes or airborne particles. Noise level in plant and/or shop work area is usually moderate. Proper safety training and equipment is provided to employee for the safe performance of required duties.
