Job Title: Sr. Accountant/Analyst
Summary:
- Key business partner involved with the various aspects of budgeting, forecasting, and the analysis/interpretation of financial results. Provides actionable insights to the business to drive cost savings and improve profitability. The role requires a strong ethical foundation, attention to detail, and the ability to present unbiased and accurate information to all stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret financial data for use in management reviews.
- Partner with business leaders to help support cost saving initiatives.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets, and development of monthly forecasts as required.
- Support Capital Expenditure forecasting & tracking.
- Prepare, analyze, interpret, and track return on investment (ROI) for major Capital projects.
- Assist in gathering, preparing and analyzing data and reports to support internal and external audits
- Support Business Unit Managers through the preparation of impactful presentations, succinct analysis, and communicate relevant and actionable insights.
- Identify root cause of variances and then partner with appropriate individuals to identify corrective actions, risks, or opportunities resulting from those variances.
- Analyze data for reasonableness and appropriateness, questioning data and teaming with others to understand the information.
- Support various corporate requests & presentations as needed.
- Performs other special ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possess a strong general accounting knowledge, including GAAP and related principles and practices.
- Sound business judgment and ability to synthesize, analyze, and extract implications from data.
- Ability to frame unstructured and complex analytical problems to a broad audience.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to regularly interface with executive management.
- Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word. Familiarity with SAP S/4 Hana & Analytics Cloud a plus.
- Must be willing to work on site.
Education and/or Experience:
- BS or BA degree in finance, business, accounting or equivalent required.
- 5+ years’ of Accounting or Financial Planning, and Analysis (FP&A) experience in a Manufacturing environment. Public company and Aerospace & Defense Industry experience preferred
- Familiarity with FAR, CAS and dealing with DCAA/DCMA audits a plus
- CPA, CMA and/or FPAC certification a plus
