SUMMARY:
With minimal assistance from Supervisor or Lead Operator set up, operate and maintain Etch Room equipment. Follows customer specifications in performing etching process using developed image of part.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With guidance from Sr. Operator or Lead as needed performs the following duties:
- Assists in set up and operation of etch and strip machines.
- Assists in performing routine and preventative maintenance on all etching and stripping equipment by keeping filter baskets clean in etchers, cleaning nozzles and checking for plugged sprayers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) including ability to measure and chart useful. Basic knowledge in the use of inspection tools such as optical comparator, calipers, micrometers and drop gauges to ensure proper etching. Basic knowledge of blueprints interpretation and work orders. Good verbal and written English communication skills, strong reasoning ability.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or on the job training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence and record production information. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance. Knowledgeable in the use and handling of all hazardous materials.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit number, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed in a typical production plant, shop environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to vibration. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper safety training and equipment is provided to the employee for the safe performance of required duties.
